History of Company

1907
The founder, Kunijiro Oka cultivated a tea estate and founded Oka-TOUSUIEN. The company's name was derived from the change of business from peach orchards.


1948
Awarded second prize in the sencha category at the National Tea Fair.


1962
Incorporated as TOUSUIEN Co.,LTD.


1966
Spreads TOUSUIEN's rough tea processing technology throughout Shimane prefecture and strives to improve and spread rough tea production technology throughout the prefecture.


1976
Masaaki Oka became the third president. He has contributed greatly to the development of the quality of tea leaves distributed in Shimane Prefecture by deepening cooperation with tea-growing regions such as Shizuoka and Mie.


2006
IZUMO Seicha (a corporate group company) is established in Izumo City, with 15 ha of tea plantations under cultivation and the first production line for powdered green tea in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions.


2007
Celebrated the 100th anniversary of the company's foundation.


2011
Kenetsu Oka becomes the fourth president. Shimane Prefecture's first matcha, Izumo Matcha, is born.


2015
Daiki Oka becomes the fifth president. Production of Izumo Matcha exceeds 30 tons. Export of Izumo matcha to Taiwan begins.


2021
Yuta Oka becomes the sixth president. Export of tea to foreign countries begins in earnest.


2022
Yuta Oka wins the 69th National Tea Judging Technique Competition. He becomes the best tea master in Japan.
Obtains FSSC 22000 ISO 9001 (international food safety and quality standard certification).

 

2024
European office opened in the Netherlands.
