About Us

Founded in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture in 1907.

At that time, tea was considered a luxury item in Japan and was not readily available to the general public. Against this backdrop, the founder of Tousuien, Kunijiro Oka, became interested in making high-quality tea available to everyone at an affordable price, even to the local Izumo residents. Kunijiro began cultivating a vast tea plantation and started growing, manufacturing, and selling tea. Even today, it is common in the tea industry for the cultivation and sale of tea to be divided and conducted by separate companies. However, Tousuien has inherited the philosophy of Kunijiro, and continues to operate its business with the idea of "Farm to table", which is an integrated process from tea cultivation to sales.

Tousuien has our own tea garden of 15 hectares and nationwide network in Japan

What makes us unique is that we own our own tea gardens, processing plant, and sales office. Not only that, but we have contract farmers all over Japan, so we can offer teas from all regions. We also grow about a dozen varieties of tea leaves and offer a large selection of single-origin teas. We promise to always deliver the products you are looking for.

Numerous Export Achievements

Tousuien has exported to 15 countries around the world, including North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Total annual export volume is approximately 80 tons.
